What this means in practice

Adventure packages from HighPass use vetted local operators only. For every rafting, diving, trekking or riding component we check certification, equipment age and insurance validity before we sell it, and we state the fitness level each activity genuinely requires.

The adventure segment is where package travel is least regulated. A rafting operator on the Ganga and a PADI dive centre in Havelock can both be excellent or genuinely dangerous, and the price difference is often small.

We inspect. Certification current, boats and BCDs within service life, guide-to-guest ratios respected, and liability insurance that actually covers the activity. If an operator will not show us the paperwork, we do not sell their product.

We are also blunt about fitness. A grade-3 trek described as 'easy' by a brochure is not easy, and pretending otherwise turns a holiday into an evacuation. Each activity in our itineraries carries a fitness rating and an honest description of the hardest hour.
